Dear online journal (LOL),
I recently read a book called "3,096 Days". It's about a girl who was kidnapped at the age of 10 and escaped at the age of 18. For 8years she was tortured mentally and physically. At first, the kidnapper was guilty of taking away her freedom so he tried his best to give her whatever she asked for. However, she was to remain in a dungeon underground (under camouflaged building)measuring 5metres. As a 10year old she was mature and used her mother's strong resilience to survive.
The kidnapper soon decided to decorate the dungeon in any way the girl wanted. Obviously, she chose to decorate it exactly like her room at home. As the days past, the kidnapper became her only companion and whenever she was alone in total darkness, she would curl up into a ball and cry. She then realised it was one of the many methods that the kidnapper used to torture her mentally. He wanted her to rely on him, power over her and constantly reminded her that her parents did not love or want her and that he had saved her.
The girl knew it was not true. Then, the kidnapper became more and more paranoid due to a psychotic disease. It was then did he started to abuse her by starving, making her a slave as well as physically abusing her. When the girl was 14, the kidnapper brought her to his home and handcuffed his hand to hers. That night, the first of the many that followed, the girl slept in the arms of the man who deprived her of freedom. He hugged her throughout the night, nothing more.
When the girl was 18, she decided that it was high time she escaped. On her birthday, she told the kidnapper that he had to either kill her, or release her. The kidnapper was shocked and somewhat depressed. He then said that he could never kill her. After some time, the girl realised that he had made plans to give them a "better life", only if he was sure that the girl won't escape.
AHEM. I love this story so much that I did this extra work of a book review. LOL. It's a touching story, especially the ending. Imagine, a 10year old survived the torture because she was somewhat naive. An adult would never have survived. ROFL. A true story somemore. So if anyone ( i doubt so? ) want borrow, can ask me :D
Ok. Post long enough lerhh. HAHA. Chiong time. Byes.
